Twitter Dashboard Widget

Overview

Soon after Twitter made its debut in 2006, I designed a Dashboard widget to aid in using the new service. Designing widgets is an interesting challenge in maximizing the display of relevant information in a small space. In the design of this widget, clicking an avatar shifts the view to the chosen user’s recent Twitter stream, while at the same time the text box turns moves to a direct message mode for that user.

I’d love to offer this as a download, but I haven’t kept the codebase up-to-date with Twitter’s API. This was a project done while I was getting my masters degree at Georgia Tech.
