Overview

Kiteboarder Map was born out of a need to geographically map beach locations and their activities. For the purposes of the initial stages, a kiteboarding audience was chosen. The website presents users with a map of the Bay Area and markers placed on the map that denote beach locations where kiteboarders commonly gather.

Upon selecting a marker, a concise selection of information about that beach is displayed as well as information relevant to the sport such as weather, tide information, and wind speed. Upon choosing the option to expand the information window, users are presented with a simple commenting system to further discuss the beach and/or activity.
