GreenRoom is an interface design for a room scheduling application. Use-context involves a website or a touchscreen kiosk within a building. The user is presented with a view of the building’s floorplan and by adjusting the radial clock interface, they can view the available rooms on any given day and time. As the hour or minute hand is grabbed and rotated, the available rooms “light up” on-screen offering an inspired and efficient interface.
The Flash-based prototype was developed start to finish in about two days. The assignment was to create a replacement for the previous room reserving method that involved pencil and paper outside each room. In order to see if a room was available, you’d need to physically visit each room. No thank you.
